"I accidentally stumbled in here for a sandwich, and was completely blown away! It's a true "Mom & Pop" restaurant, and not only was the service outstanding, I could hardly eat half of my Pastrami & Swiss on Dutch Crunch.
Their bread is fresh daily, and I've ate samples they pass out as Bobba Lou himself slices all their meats & cheeses, it's a fun eating experience. Since stumbling in several months ago, I've eaten there 3-4 times each week and I can't get enough of their food, not to mention the complimentary Tootsie Pop they give you for dessert.. Once, I drove a client from Corning to Redding, just so she could try their food. When we got to Bobba Lou's and told them all how far we'd traveled, they offered buying our lunch. I protested, and they settled on buying our sodas instead. Great People! Dining in, taking it to go, having it delivered... If you're hungry in Shasta County, there is not a better place to eat, period!"

"This week, Tidbits highlights Bobba Lou's, "A Mom & Pop Sandwich Shop," located at 1872 Buenaventura Blvd., here in Redding. Opened in February of this year, it is a family owned and operated venture. The idea for opening a family operated business came about when Bob and Adriana Constantino's son, John, who was living in the Bay Area operating a sandwich shop, named Mr. Pickles, wanted to move back to the area and be close to family, proposed the idea they open a sandwich shop together. After searching for just the right location, they opened Bobba Lou's, a term of endearment given to the patriarch of the family, Bob Constantino, for as long as John can remember. The menu offers a wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches, salads and a soup of the day. The ingredients that go into making Bobba Lou's the delightful eatery it is, are cut and prepared daily. On my visit, I had the hot turkey, choice of cheese with cranberry sauce on sourdough, better known as the #21, along with a cup of their clam chowder and dirty chips. My husband and I returned several days later for round two! Hours of operation are M-F 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. So, if you're in the area, and 1 encourage you even if you're not, to stop by Bobba Lou's, not only for the great food they serve up, but the friendly hometown service with which they deliver it." -Tidbits |
